"I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised Him from the dead. I want to suffer with Him, sharing in His death, so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead." (Philippians 3:10-11)

Verse 1:
At the start the Father and the Son were together
But God so loved the world He sent His Son to die
Jesus took the punishment for me
Died on the cross so He could set me free
And this is love: that Christ still died while we were sinners

Verse 2:
God poured out His wrath on Jesus and the earth was filled with darkness
Jesus asked why had His Father forsaken Him
Our sin pushed Him away from God's presence
He was alone abandoned by His friends
Gave up His Spirit and He said it was over

Chorus:
But He didn't have to cut Him off
And forsake Him on the cross but God was up to something
Though we did not deserve His love
He welcomes us as children and His love's enough
Jesus didn't have to stoop so low
Dying on a sinner's cross for reconciliation
I know that He forgave me so
Jesus is somebody that I want to know
