Sometimes we go through things that hurt us. Then God steps in and mends what's broken. Yet still, even after our the healing of our hearts, there can be moments that remind us of what we've come through and it hurts all over again.

We need not doubt our having been healed, but instead have to remember that healing can sometimes look like a process of continually opening our hearts to allow the Healer to restore us and make us whole in His way and His timing.

I was in a place where I needed to be reminded that even though I felt the sting of past heart pains, I could still stand on the truth that God had made my heart whole. I clung to God's promises over my momentary feelings --

He's not done with you yet. He is still working. He’ll finish what He starts. He won’t leave you broken. “He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ." (Philippians 1:6)

The process of making you whole is under the careful watch of a Faithful Father. "He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it." (1 Thessalonians 5:24) ”Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful." (Hebrews 10:23)

So hold on to your hope. You are fully known even when you can’t see it just yet (1 Corinthians 13:12).
