This one was a simple prayer turned into a simple song that speaks of the truths that, like Joshua and the people of Israel, I have nothing to fear because God promises His presence with me wherever I go (i.e. Joshua 1), and that, like David, God picks me up out of my mess and puts my feet back on solid ground (i.e. Psalm 40).
My prayer was this: “Jesus, You’ve always been with me. You’ve always gone before me, stood behind me, walked next to me. I would be so lost without You, not knowing where to go or how to get there. BUT, You lead me faithfully, reminding me time and time again that You are enough.”
And that’s the reality - I would be lost without Him, BUT GOD is the faithful One who leads me.
PS the word at the top, הָלַל [halal], is a Hebrew word meaning worthy of praise, found in Psalm 18:3, "I call upon the Lord, who is WORTHY to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies." The word at the bottom, ἄξιος [axios] is a Greek word meaning worthy, found in Revelation 4:11, "WORTHY are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.
lyrics
Verse 1:
I will not fear
For You are with me
And You're not going anywhere
You are my strength
You’re walking next to me
You lift my eyes to see Your glory
Pre-Chorus 1:
You picked me up and turned my life around
I once was lost but now my soul is found
You take me by the hand and lift me up
You are deserving of all my trust
Chorus:
I’d be so lost without You
I’d be so lost without You
I’d be so lost without You leading me
But God, You’re leading me
Verse 2:
My past redeemed
My sins forgiven
My life forever changed
You called my name
O Jesus, You rescued me
I know I’ll never be the same
Pre-Chorus 2:
You gave my heart a new song to sing
When on the cross You gave up everything
Now I’ve found a home here in Your love
In the fullness of Your grace, King Jesus
Bridge:
Faithfully, always reminding me
You are more than enough
You lead me faithfully
You’re always reminding me
You are more than enough
